Stepping out in faith
According to the National Indigenous Organization Of Colombia(ONIC)
there are 102 indigenous groups in Colombia who live in reservations.
When we first made our trip to Colombia in September 2009 we felt led to a
village of the Embera Chami called Karamatua (which translates to I am a
Christian) also known as Cristiania in the Andes. I initially went with Monica
Wisker who also felt the same burden when I shared to go and do what I
felt God was calling me to do. We set out not knowing anyone without any
contacts armed only with the conviction of the Holy Spirit.
God promised to
take us there and He has brought us back not only once but every time we
have stepped out in faith to respond to his call. He has protected and
empowered us, brought people and ministries that have helped us to fulfil
this vision. We are eternally grateful to all the people God has used in one
way or the other to make this vision a reality. I would like to thank God
particularly for Theodora Matowanyika who took over from Monica when
she couldn’t travel because of her health etc. We have travelled together as
she has faithfully accompanied, supported and encouraged me on this
journey to reach the unevangelized. We have seen God move in
miraculous ways and we are expecting to experience more of his power
and glory.
